Hope Builder Board Volunteers

The Hope Builder Board is a vital piece to Valley Hope’s future. Each month a group of dedicated volunteers gather at Valley Hope of Parker to assist with our fundraising and alumni development.

The Hope Builder Board’s fundraising efforts go directly to benefit immediate patient needs. The board hosts two large fundraisers yearly. The annual golf tournament is hosted in May and has become a vital part of our Patient Assistance fund. Plan now to join us in 2020!

The Hope Builder Board also hosts an annual 100 Who Care Event. The goal is a secure 100 gifts of $100 within a short period of time. Each year this tele-fundraising campaign raises thousands of dollars in a single evening. This year it will take place November 13th, 2019.

The Hope Builder Board is currently looking for nominations for new board members. General guidelines: patients can join 2 years after discharge and must be 1 year clean and sober. Friends and family members can serve on the board as long as they are not an employee or related to an employee of Valley Hope. If you know of anyone that may be interested in serving Valley Hope, please feel free to contact Kortney Poire at 785-202-0471.

Colorado School Children Need You!

The long warm days of summer have begun and I watch with joy as children fill the parks, pools and rec centers. It is in this moment that I find myself reminiscing and reflecting back on my own childhood. I remember vividly being worry-free, enjoying days at the pool, time with friends, lemonade stands and lots of laughter. Unfortunately, not all children have such happy experiences.

As Colorado continues to grow at a staggering rate, so has the need for assistance. In 2017, 42.2% of all Colorado students, 368,236 to be exact, qualified for free or reduced lunches! This is an alarming number. This time of year adds additional stress to already struggling families. The reality is that without help they have no way of getting their children prepared with the necessary supplies to go back to school.
Beginning this year, Valley Hope of Denver and Valley Hope of Parker have partnered with Fill A Backpack, a program of A Precious Child, to help make difference.

“The goal is to provide more than 19,000 children living in eight Denver Metro counties with backpacks filled with grade appropriate school supplies, so they feel empowered in school.”

Beginning June 24th thru July 19th you can bring backpacks and school supplies to Valley Hope of Parker and Valley Hope of Denver. Join us in the effort to make a difference to one Colorado child in need. Click here for a list of needed supplies.
