Your Clinical Director, Rachel English

This month it is with great honor that I spotlight Parker Valley Hope’s Clinical Program Director Rachel English. She is a natural leader, loved by her colleagues, and she has a special place in her heart for Valley Hope. Rachel has an office at the end of the hallway, but you will rarely find her there. She’s always on the go making sure her clinical team is well taken care of.

Rachel, unfortunately, has witnessed firsthand the heartbreaking consequences of addiction throughout her life. It has left no one in her family untouched. After having lap band surgery; Rachel too found addiction creep into her life. This disease does not discriminate; even for employees who help others overcome their addiction.

In Rachel’s spare time, she loves to spend time with her grandson she absolutely adores. Often you will hear her gushing over him and showing off pictures of his adorable face. She is always concerned about others; which is what makes her not only a wonderful clinical director, but a genuine and humble person. Thank you, Rachel, for all that you do! Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed!

Enjoying Nature Together!

It is no wonder Colorado has been nicknamed “America’s Playground.” I moved to Colorado from Ohio when I was nine years old and like most Coloradoans, I immediately found that I had a natural love for the outdoors. I vividly remember how beautiful and breathtaking the mountains were and how I wanted to get lost in nature.

On June 29th, I was grateful to begin my journey at Valley Hope hosting my first alumni event soaking in Colorado’s beauty and hiking with alumni on a perfect picturesque day.

Less than fifteen minutes from Valley Hope of Parker is breathtaking Castlewood Canyon State Park filled with an abundance of Colorado’s beauty and native wildlife. Our morning was filled with fellowship and laughter. We encountered frogs, birds, lizards and an occasional rattlesnake along the two-hour hike. It is amazing to witness instant bonds between alumni. They all shared their stories with one another and their love and gratitude for Valley Hope for saving their lives. Witnessing people living life in recovery is a beautiful thing!

Staying connected is a vital part of recovery. I hope to see you all at putt putt golf!
