"Thank you for your contributions"- Ian (Alumni)

Handwritten letter from Ian to Alumni

You’ve got mail! An alumni wrote a letter expressing his gratitude for donations that helped him in more than one way.

“Alumni, I want to say thank you for your contributions. They have helped me to be here at CVH a little longer for my medical reasons. As well for a stack of books that I am so grateful for. I will be paying it forward as much as possible, and again thank you for what you do to continue serving the CVH community. Sincerely, Ian.” Ian was able to get a stack of books for free and some financial help for treatment. The excitement that radiated from him was extremely touching. You and our alumni are making a difference.

Everyday Habits for Successful Recovery- Part 1

Planting a seed into the ground

1. Pray/meditate – Try putting your shoes, phone, or keys under your bed at night so in the morning you must get on your knees to retrieve them and will already be on your knees for prayer.

2. Attend a meeting – Usually when you don’t want to go to a meeting is when you should. Try implementing 90 meetings in 90 days to obtain a regular routine. Attending the same meeting within that 90 days will help start building your support system/community.

3. Read recovery literature – There’s copious amounts of options for literature to choose from. It’s never a bad idea to read something inspirational to start or end your day.
